The Bank of Spain (BdE) has approved the registration of the technology company EurocoinPay® in the register of service providers for the exchange of virtual currency for fiat currency and the custody of electronic wallets. The publication of the registration became effective on 16 June 2022.
The technology company EurocoinPay once again has the backing of the Bank of Spain (BdE). The highest Spanish financial institution has approved the registration of the Leon-based company in its register of service providers for the exchange of fiat currency for cryptocurrencies and the custody of electronic wallets.
The BdE thus recognises that EurocoinPay is a company that meets the requirements of commercial and professional integrity established by law and the Prevention of Money Laundering regulations.
This official recognition of the “commercial trustworthiness” of the EurocoinPay platform makes it one of the “safest and most reliable in the market” and “offers a return on the work we have been carrying out over the last few years to ensure that the adoption and trust of blockchain technology becomes a reality for citizens”, says Herminio Fernández, CEO of EurocoinPay.
With this approval, the BdE once again supports the work of EurocoinPay for its innovation and for complying with the established regulations, being the only crypto company that was selected in May 2021 to participate alongside the national central bank in the first Spanish Sandbox with its cryptocurrency payment terminal.
“This new support from the BdE is a big step towards the reliability of cryptocurrencies and their immediate future as a means of payment,” concludes Fernández.
In 2018, the European Union awarded EurocoinPay the seal of excellence for innovation in blockchain and disruption of its cryptocurrency payment terminal, and with this latest approval from the Bank of Spain, EurocoinPay has established itself as a benchmark in alternative payment methods and the most reliable cryptocurrency payment platform in the sector.
Herminio Fernández‘s work to achieve the regulation of cryptocurrencies began in 2017. A tireless work to which he remains fully dedicated through meetings and conversations with senior executives and public officials, such as the First Vice-President of the Government, Nadia Calviño, in order to position Spain as a benchmark in a matter that urgently requires a common regulation for the whole of Europe.
